Research has shown that drinking water and eating fruit and vegetables is essential for good health and can help concentration throughout the day.

Wynnum West State School is committed to improving children’s health through education. One of the ways you can help to support this is by providing your child the opportunity to put healthy eating habits into practice.
All students will be allocated a set time during the morning session to eat a small serving of fresh fruit and/or vegetables and drink water whilst continuing to read or work on classroom activities.
Students who are hungry or dehydrated find it difficult to concentrate and teachers have found students are more willing to focus and learn after this short break.
We invite you to support your child to participate in ‘Brain Break’ by providing a small container of chopped fresh fruit or vegetables and a clean water bottle each day for ‘Brain Break.’
‘Brain Break’ will officially commence at the beginning of Term 1, 2019.
